CONSTITUTION

(replaced by new constitution on March 16, 2015)

ARTICLE I 

NAME: Blue River Valley Amateur Radio Society

ARTICLE II

PURPOSE: To promote and stimulate Amateur Radio.

ARTICLE III

MEMBERS:

SECTION 1. Anyone with an interest in Amateur Radio may become a
member by a majority vote present at a regularly scheduled
meeting.

SECTION 2. There will be four types of membership;

A) Full membership-licensed amateur
B) Associate membership – non licensed
C) Student membership – 1st – 12th grade
D) Life membership – as deemed by majority vote
**The associate and student membership will not have any voting rights or will not be able to hold office.

SECTION 3. All full members in good standing will be eligible to vote and hold office and receive club privileges.

SECTION 4. All members present at the first scheduled meeting will be considered charter members but will have no special entities.

SECTION 5. Membership will be for a period of one year (Jan 1-Dec 31)

ARTICLE IV

DUTIES OF THE OFFICERS:

SECTION 1. The President shall preside at all meetings of this club and conduct the same according to the rules adopted. He/She shall enforce due observance of this constitution and by-laws, decide all questions of order, sign all official documents adopted by the club, and none other. The President shall perform all customary duties pertaining to
the office of the President and shall appoint all Committees.

SECTION 2. The Vice President will assist the President on any club matter and fill in for the President at regular meetings when the president is absent. The Vice President will serve as and ex-officio member of all committees.

SECTION 3. The Secretary shall keep a record of the proceedings of all proceedings of all meetings, keep a roll of members and carry on all correspondence and read communications at each meeting. The Secretary shall execute such other duties as assigned by the President. At expiration of term, the Secretary shall turn over all possessions belonging to the club to the successor.

SECTION 4. The Treasurer shall receive and receipt for monies paid to the club and shall keep an accurate account of all monies received and expended. The Treasurer shall pay no bills without communications with other officers. Accounts of the club shall be audited each year by an auditing committee.

SECTION 5. The officers shall comprise the executive committee and it
Will be their responsibility to conduct the activities of the
Club.

ARTICLE VI

ASSESSMENTS:

SECTION 1. The Amateur Radio Club, by a majority vote of the members present at any regular meeting, may levy upon the general membership such dues and assessments as shall deemed necessary for the business of the club.

ARTICLE VII

AMENDMENTS:

SECTION 1. The constitution shall be amended by two-thirds majority vote of those present. All members will be notified in writing 30 days prior to the meeting of the proposed amendment or change.
