BRVARS Members Meetings

Meetings are held every other month on the 3rd Monday. The first meeting of the year, the member’s dinner meeting, is held in January. Newly elected Officers are presented to the membership at this meeting. Subsequent member meetings are held in March, May, July, September and November.

Meetings are held at the Hope’s Point Baptist Church, 1703 Miller Avenue, Shelbyville, IN 46176. Meeting time is 7:00 PM.

BRVARS Officers Meetings

The Officer’s meeting is held on the first Monday of every month at the Wendy’s restaurant on North SR 9 at the I-74 junction. The restaurant is on the North side of the junction. Meeting time is 7:00PM.

BRVARS “Ham” Breakfast with the Hams

The informal BRVARS “Ham” Breakfast with the Hams is held on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each and every month at the Denny’s Restaurant located at 102 Lee Boulevard, Shelbyville, IN 46176. Breakfast starts at 8:30AM and goes until we run out of stories to tell each other. This is a great time for everyone. Bring your family and friends and specially anyone that might show an interest in the amateur radio hobby.

BRVARS Friday “Lunch Bunch” at Subway

Every Friday(except holidays) some of us meet at the Subway restaurant on East SR 44, Michigan Rd., for lunch at 11:45AM. Everyone is encouraged to attend and enjoy. The conversation seems to run the gamut and the subject matter is not limited to ham radio. We would love to have a bigger crowd on Fridays, so come on out and join us.

BRVARS Digital SSTV Sessions

On Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, several of us tune to 144.36 MHz at 7:30AM and have a digital SSTV(slow scan TV) session. We send pictures over the air using a program called EasyPal and our 2 meter rigs. If you are looking for a new twist to the hobby then digital SSTV might just be for you. Even if you are not setup for SSTV at the present time, join us and join in on the conversation. There are plenty of us there and someone will help you to get started in this interesting aspect of the hobby.

 BRVARS Ralph and Nancy Polston Shelbyville Tailgate

This event usually takes place in the fall of the year in Ralph’s side yard of his home. A date for 2015 has not been set yet, but as soon as it has we will post the details on the website in a special announcement. Stay tuned.
